I’m watching the leaves fall off the oaks, my ouch, ouch, ouch hopping around on the pavers signaling that our barefoot summer is quickly ending. While we’re longing for the air to catch up here in LA, nature continues to bend toward the inevitable - the softening of the light, a hint of that morning crisp. The changing of the season feels in lockstep with mine; I, too, am letting a few things fall to make room for what’s ahead.
We used to have a kids banner here at the shop that said, let nature be your teacher. Isn’t that the truest, when we pay attention? The fullness of each season meant for the moment, then simply leading into the next. Change is one of the surest things we have in this life - sometimes a brilliant flash and other times a slow current. Whether you’re in a season of shedding, planting, or harvesting, I hope we remember that what we are leaving behind has prepared us for what’s ahead, come what may.
Here’s to fall,
Pat
